I was born and raised in Tennessee (and proud of it!) I met Paul in the fall of 2001. It’s hard to believe that I’ve known him and not been able to get him off my mind for almost ten years now. “Alaska! He says he fishes in Alaska!” I thought. I lived in Cincinnati, OH for a while, and then Paul convinced me to move to Wisconsin. The truth is, I would have followed him anywhere (and I did). I made my first trip to Alaska in the summer of 2003 and he proposed. We were married on May 8th, 2004, in Tennessee, of course! Paul bought his first fishing boat, the North Star, two months before our wedding and I am now spending my 9th summer in Alaska. July 9th, 2009 our son Brant was born. What better timing then the middle of the fishing season. Paul flew in on a float plane from the Chenik fishing grounds just in time for the real pain to set in. We named our son Brant Samuel Chenik Roth. He makes us smile everyday!!
